Dad - an oldie but a goodie!

Not much to say on this one. I made him a few years ago and the real thing hasn't aged a bit either!!

Marie's Batty!

After seeing Marie Segal's "Batty" project I just had to have a go. Marie's blog and project can be found here:

I love halloween so this was the perfect excuse to indulge! As usual, I was missing a few of the tools required so I made do with what I had. I had no makin's cutters, only kemper so the bats are smaller than Marie's'. I did however have some pumpkin lampwork beads which I hadn't made use of until now... I added these along with some fiery swarovski beads (I wanted to use these for eyes but they were far too big so I settled for seed beads) to make a great necklace and earring set!

As usual, rubbish photography but the finished pieces really look sweet!

Stamps 'n' Slices

This was my first real outing with stamps and polymer clay. I had always been at a bit of a loss as to what to do here but received a lovely tutorial from Jema Hewitt and made these lovely broaches below.

Check out Jema's website on:

This is my favourite, of course because these are not my canes!

I quite like this one though!

I think the stamp design was a little too clunky here.
This was my first experiment with coloured liquid Kato - I added a layer at the end. I think I need to work on this technique a little as I am not too pleased with the results. A layer of kato clear medium would have worked just fine.

Plenty of pillow beads

I've been so busy lately (trying to make our house look lovely) that I only get little snatches of time to do clay.

I mostly spend this time making bits out of canes that I have already made. I can see there are going to be alot of pillow beads to come!

My latest are fruit pillow beads. I am thinking the finished beads are a little too big and would prefer smaller sized beads and canes. I'll have to work on that!
