More thing a day

Thing a day is almost over but there are a few pics that I haven't shared with you here yet.

Day 13 of thing a day, I finally used a piece from my Funky Punky pendant set, which I made in 2010 - oops! If you don't remember those you can look at the link here:

I made the following bracelet for day 12 of Thing a Day. I made the beads from a cane that went wrong so I was pleased that these beads worked so well in this bracelet that I made.

For day 22, I used some beads I made from scrap clay to make these simple earrings and a bracelet.

I think that is enough for now!

Spellbound Cat

Me thinks my cat likes my local bead shop just as much as I do :)

Thing a Day, Days 11 and 16

Thing a day has taken over a bit recently and I haven't been doing much else. I played around with some canes to see what I could up with for beads and created the following:

Day 11 beads. I think these would look great with really bold flower canes.

Day 16 beads. Applique slices of cane look so great on pendants, so I wanted to see what they would look like placed around beads. I put some slices on a brain cane bead and here are the results.

I'm not quite sure about them. I think the smaller slices work better as do the slices that blend with the colours in the brain cane. Hopefully they will all look better when on a necklace.

Thing a day, Days 15 and 19

I made these beads for days 15 and 19 of Thing a Day for the Polymer Clay Central's Forum.

These are my beads for Day 15, I call them disc beads.

These are my film beads for day 19.

Thing a Day, Days 8, 9 and 17.

Just a few piccies of the things I have been creating for the Thing a Day Challenge for Polymer Clay Central's Forum. These are for days 8, 9 and 17 and I've grouped them together because I used canes from the Sandra McCaw workshop that I attended a couple of years ago.

Day 8 -McCaw Feather Earrings

Day 9 my Quick Polymer Fae Earrings

Naughty Cat

As you know, I am not the best at taking photos of my work. Just take a look at these links for evidence (and remember, these were the best photos).

So I bought a light tent to help reduce glare, shadows and improve lighting etc. This was not what I had in mind when I purchased it...

Bad cat
Not the place for you to have a wash dear cat!

And look at the mess she left behind.

As if I don't have enough problems with lint getting into my work and showing up on pictures.

Thing a Day, Days 7 and 10

As you know, I've been creating this month for the Thing A Day challenge on the Polymer Clay Central's forum. My clown fish cane was getting a bit weak (a combination of using Fimo Soft and the play dough reducing technique) so I wanted to use this up in some of my thing a day creations.

For day 7 of the challenge, I made these tropical aquarium beads.

And for today, day 10 of the challenge, I made this aquarium pendant.

Thing a Day, Days 4, 5 and 6

As I made beads for days 1, 2 and 3 of Thing a Day, I thought I would first post these chocolate ice lolly charms I made.

They were actually made for day 5. You can find out how to make these charms soon - I'll let you know details later!

Below are the beads I made for day 4! Don't you love the sunflower cane? I made that using Zuleyka's tutorial which you can buy via her etsy shop.

I needed a special card for a friend's birthday so I thought it would be great to combine making a card and day 6 of thing a day. For the card, I baked a flower, made using Ayeletbead's tutorial and added a birthday cupcake centre. Scrummy.

Right, off to plan something for day 7...

Thing a Day Days 2 and 3

Whilst I don't want to post my "thing a day" everyday - if I did that there would be rather a lot of posts for February, when thing a day takes place - I just had to post today's beads because I absolutely love the colour combinations and canes used for these.

I'm going to have to make more things with these colours, because I intend to keep something for myself.

Here are some earrings I made for day 2, which go with the beads for day 1.

Tiara Making at Spellbound Beads

I was lucky enough to go on an introductory Tiara making workshop last week at Spellbound Beads, Lichfield.

To read more about this workshop, please see Bead Magazine, Issue 37, April/May 2012 which is on sale March 14th.

It was a full day workshop and I enjoyed it sooo much. I've done plenty of wirework before but just never had a go at Tiara's... I'm a bit hooked now!

I made the following Tiara on the day:

and this fascinator

and now I can't wait to design some polymer clay pieces to go onto a Tiara...

Thing a Day

This year I have decided to take part in the Polymer Clay Forum's "Thing a Day" project. I'm sure I don't need to explain too much about what it is but it takes place throughout February and today is day 1.

Here are the beads I made.
