Waterlily wah wahs

I got careless when making these "waterlily" beads.

I love, love, love the mix of colours I used and wanted to finish the beads quickly. After the beads were baked and cooled, I coated them in liquid clay and popped them back in the oven. I intended to blast them with a heat gun after the liquid clay was baked, to make them lovely and glossy.

However, I'd popped them on piercing pins which quickly became hot and expanded in the oven. The result? The beads cracked....wah wah wah.

Despite me dumping them in ice water, the beads split when I tried to drill them. I couldn't save any of them - the cracks were just too wide.

Oh sob. Now I just need a little time to make some more.

Crazy Sputnik Beads

My Etsy shop was feeling a little left out with all the activity on my Folksy shop so I listed these crazy sputnik beads to keep it happy!

Graffiti and Flames

And yet more items listed in my Folksy shop, I'm really on a roll now.

I made the following earrings using techniques adapted from Iris Mishly's lovely alcohol inks tutorial.

The tute is for a bracelet and I didn't get that far as I was pushed for time but I loved playing around with inks. These are now for sale on my Folksy shop:

These earrings use polymer pieces and fire agate flat gems.

This graffiti pendant is again adapted and I love it! I'm hoping someone will give it a loving home and show me what they do with it.

New Listings on Folksy

I'm doing what I can for breaking that New Years resolution of "listing 2 new FloRaeMe items per week online".

I've put a couple of sets of pillow beads in my new Folksy shop. Firstly, I finally listed these lovely pink symmetrical pillow beads, which I made a couple of years ago! I was so impressed by the finish and shine on these beads that I put them into a box with items to be sold online, when I finally got around to setting up an online shop.

You can find these bad boys for sale here:

I've also put these rainbow pillow beads up for sale too:

And of course I had to list some of my favourite mottled beads.

You can get a set of 14mm green-yellow beauties:

Or a set of 6 rich aqua beads:

Let me know which your favourite is.

New Folksy Shop & Broken New Years Resolutions

One of my New Years Resolutions this year was to list 2 FloRaeMe items for sale online per week.... so far I have managed 2 for the whole of January. Oh dear!

I'm going to try and do better for February. So I have opened a new FloRaeMe Folksy shop, which for those of you who don't know is a web based marketplace showcasing British designers and crafters.

Here's the link to my shop

and here is the first listing

There is just something about cartoon skulls isn't there?
