New Mushroom Cane

I've a new cane to show you all. Introducing my new mushroom cane!

I made this cane using the play dough technique because I didn't want a clay background. It does make it pretty difficult to photograph the right way up though as the top is heavier than the bottom. Flipping the photo makes it look a bit odd but you get the idea!

Would you like the chance to win a bit of this cane?

It's Earring Time!

I've been making and listing some earrings of late and I wanted to share them with you!

I went uber bling on this first pair of earrings with glittery polymer clay pieces, sodalite chips and wrapped agate nuggets. For sale in my Folksy shop.

Copper leaf earrings next, shaped like, well leaves! This is actually imitation silver leaf, dyed in shades of brown and copper. The pieces are then wrapped at the top with brown wire, in a style I like to call "scruffy wrap". You can get them now in my Folksy shop

Now it's time for some cakeyness with these teeny pink polymer clay cake slice earrings. For sale in my Folksy shop

The next couple of pairs are not for sale but are just some fun pairs to show you!

Yummy Beads for Sale

Yey, finally had some time to make, sand and buff these yummy beads!

Remember the cherry bakewell cane I made? Well, see this post if you don't

I made the cane a couple of years ago because I love cherry bakewells! They taste great, all almond and cherry flavoured and look cute too (although that may be because I know how they taste...). So what better way to have a bit of fun that putting a few slices on some rose quartz coloured polymer beads.

I also added a few cupcake slices into the mix to produce these groovy beadies also For sale now in my shop

Inky Stripes Tutorial in Bead Magazine

Wow, is it March already? Where has the first part of the year gone? It's certainly flown by and I've hardly had any time to tell you about the latest article I had printed in Bead Magazine. Its the current issue: issue 44 and it is in the shops now. In fact, if you don't buy it soon, you'll miss it as the next issue is due out!

The brief for the article was simply "colour" but I'm interested in colour theory and as you know I love working in polymer clay so I combined the 2 to create the "Inky Stripes" tutorial.

Look I made the cover!

In the tutorial I show you how to make the unusual shaped pendant shown on the top right of the front cover but I also show you how to make fun shaped beads that match your pendant.

This dove pendant was made as part of the "look what other styles of pendant you can make". It is now for sale in my Folksy shop and features in the article. To go directly to the item follow this link:
